NDK Pilgrim

The Pilgrim has proven to be a rough water enabler for the 80-140 lb paddler who doesn’t need a wider boat. This hull is very stable for the smaller paddler and doesn’t get pushed around by the excess surface area of a wider boat. It’s also more likely to be the right length for paddlers in this size range who find that the Pilgrim’s optimum hull speed fits their optimum output better than longer boats.

A responsive kayak designed for the small or slim paddler. The hull is narrow, offering speed and is very easily turned and controlled in wind with a minimum of weather cocking even in strong winds. This kayak is as easy to roll as any Greenland style kayak. Pilgrim fits the small kayaker and also the taller and slim kayaker. This multiple-fit option is due to a raised area either side of the cockpit.

The kayak is fitted with the High performance glass seat, unless otherwise requested. The small paddler may want to consider the small size High performance glass seat which has to be ordered specifically, but for no additional cost. The kayak has a low rear deck for easy rolling, a keyhole cockpit that gives excellent grip, control and allows quick exit if need be. The sloping bulkhead behind the seat allows the kayak to be emptied by lifting only the bow, no x-rescue is necessary.

A day/weekend kayak for the small or taller and slim paddler, length: 15.75 feet, width: 19.69 inches, depth: 12.01 inches, overall volume: 66.18 gallons, front hatch volume: 16.38 gallons, cockpit volume: 31.04 gallons, day hatch volume: 9.51 gallons, rear hatch volume: 9.25 gallons.

Expedition and Latitude

The Pilgrim Expedition is a slim, fast kayak with increased carrying capacity for camping expeditions. The kayak is specifically designed the smaller paddler and the taller and slimmer kayaker at the same time.

The Expedition retains the smaller cockpit of the Pilgrim so that access to items on the front deck is still convenient for smaller paddlers.

The Latitude, by contrast, comes with a longer cockpit, providing easier entry and exit for taller paddlers, and a 2″ extension in the hull length behind the cockpit, adding buoyancy for slightly heavier paddlers or for larger loads.

Both versions have a low, rear deck for easy rolling. The sloping bulkhead behind the seat, allows the kayak to be emptied by lifting only the bow, no x-rescue is necessary. The kayak is fitted with our new High performance glass seat that is higher and can be adjusted forwards and backwards. Fitted hip pads with the option of glass thigh braces help to customize the cockpit area.

The Expedition length: 17.03 feet, width: 19.69 inches, depth: 12.01 inches, overall volume: 74.76 gallons, front hatch volume: 19.15 gallons, cockpit volume: 34.34 gallons, day hatch volume: 10.04 gallons, rear hatch volume: 11.23 gallons.
